The HeffaLump by QueenDionne The HeffaLump by QueenDionne
Markers, india ink and chalk pastel on 11 x 14 inch bristol.

The HeffaLump was created in celebration of the spirit of the elephant. The choice of vibrancy and pattern is used in consideration of the mysticism surrounding the creature within its environment. Unlike humans, animals live within nature instinctively and thus sustainably. Humans however, have the ability to manipulate and apply concepts upon the environment. Thus, today we see a perverted abuse of the power of man living recklessly and unconsciously, driven by an arbitrary and selfish economic ideology.

beautiful! i love how it takes a minute to see the elephant and then all of a sudden it pops out at you. do you draw with india ink first and then color in with marker? i try to use india ink but find it so hard to control and get details without messing up.
